    Tosin Jegede is a talented Nigerian singer and songwriter. Back in the 1980s, she was a sensational child singer. At the tender age of five, she released her first album, "Children Arise," followed by two more albums, "Leaders of Tomorrow" in 1989 and "Children of Africa" in 1992. While pursuing her dreams, she later ventured to the UK, where she earned a degree in Business Decision and Analysis from the prestigious University of Bristol and returned to her homeland in 2008. A passionate advocate for children's education and literacy, she founded the Tosin Jegede Foundation and initiated the "One Book One Child" project, striving to enhance learning opportunities for African children, particularly in Nigeria.

    Smart Nkansah is a Ghanaian veteran highlife singer and guitarist and the founder of Sweet Talks Band. He had difficulty establishing himself because he grew up in a family that did not support his music career. Smart later worked briefly with prominent highlife musicians before forming the Sweet Talks Band, which is best known for their debut hit album, Adam & Eve.

    Mkhatshani Daniel Shirinda, popularly known as M.D. Shirinda, was a veteran South African singer-songwriter, and pioneer of Xitsonga music. Shirinda's music career started in the 1960s. Despite facing challenges early in his career when producers didn't believe his music would sell, Shirinda's album release in 1976 gave him his career break. Shirinda also performed live with his backing band, the Gaza sisters, which includes his wives. With a career spanning several decades, Shirinda recorded over 764 songs before his demise on June 25, 2017.

    Evoloko Atshuamo, known as Evoloko Jocker or Lay Lay, is a renowned Congolese soukous singer. He rose to fame as the frontman and band leader of Zaiko Langa Langa, a prominent soukous band in the late 1960s. Evoloko, alongside talented musicians like Papa Wemba and Mavuela Somo, pioneered the popular cavacha sound and dance style. His exceptional songwriting, electrifying performances, and dance skills solidified Zaiko's position as the country's top band for young people. Evoloko briefly left Zaiko and formed Isifi Lokole, but later founded Langa Langa Stars alongside former Zaiko members and Dindo Yogo. Despite lineup changes, the band achieved significant success. Evoloko continued his musical journey with solo projects and collaborations, including occasional reunions with Zaiko Langa Langa.

    Sooliman Ernest "Rogie" Rogers, popularly known as S.E. Rogie, was a Sierra Leonean highlife musician with career spanning over five decades. Rogers was known for his beautiful silk-like baritone voice and outstanding Palm Wine guitar-playing skills. He entertained people across the continents with his music, and released several hits, including "My Lovely Elizabeth" and "African Lady." In 1973, he migrated to the United States and moved to London in 1988. While in the US, he developed an underground culture for African music that sprouted many followers, copy-cat bands, and recognition from local and federal governments. Rogie's contributions to the American way of life were recognized by the US Congress, the US Senate, and the cities of Berkeley and Oakland in California. He passed away in 1994.
