Gaining notoriety in 2019 following the release of his hit single "Baby" is the trendy face of Nigerian Afrobeats artist Joseph Akinfenwa. Professionally called, Joeboy, was born and raised in Lagos State, and is one whose story inspires the next generation. Between 2017 and 2019, he recorded a couple of songs that didn't do well until 2019. The same year of his breakout saw the release of his debut album. He is currently signed to emPawa Africa Limited.
