John Kasadha, better known as John Blaq, is a Ugandan singer, songwriter, and performer whose music spans dancehall, Afrobeat, reggae, ragga, and hip-hop. Raised in Bweyogerere, Kampala, he developed his musical abilities through school rap battles before launching his recording career in 2018.
His breakthrough single, "Tukwatagane," established him nationally, while "Sweet Love," featuring Vinka, expanded his audience across East Africa. His catalogue includes "Do Dat," "Obubadi," "African Boy," "Ngamba," "Commander," "Style," and later releases including "Namala" and "Angela."
Recognized for his deep bass vocals and the signature phrase "Aya Basi," he has collaborated with artists including Sheebah Karungi, Daddy Andre, Prince Omar, David Lutalo, Grenade Official, and Irene Namubiru.
John Blaq has also secured commercial partnerships, headlined the Aya Basi Concert, and remains an active contributor to Uganda's contemporary music industry.
Off the stage, John Blaq has directed part of his public presence toward social advocacy, actively speaking out against teenage pregnancy.
