BioJohn Edmond is a Rhodesian folk singer and retired soldier who rose to popularity in the 1970s with his Rhodesian patriotic songs. He had a natural talent for music as a child and began playing the mouth organ, bugle, and guitar. After graduating from high school, he joined the Rhodesian Air Force after attending schools in Rhodesia, Scotland, and South Africa. During the Rhodesian Bush War, he was a pilot, and his experiences inspired many of his songs. During the Rhodesian Bush War, he rose to fame and was called the "Bush Cat" at times.
