John Ireland, born John Griffith, is a South African pop performer who debuted in the late 1970s. He founded Slither with Jonathan Handley after they met at Wits Medical School. Slither became the Radio Rats after John Ireland left to pursue a solo career. John Ireland's debut single was a cover of "Greensleeves" with the lyrics "You're living inside my head," which was released in 1978 alongside the album Thinking Aloud.
