John 'Bishop' Desmond Katana Harrison was a Kenyan musician and founding member of the popular East African band, Them Mushrooms. Born in Kenya in the 1950s, Harrison started playing music at a young age and was a talented guitarist and vocalist. In the early 1980s, Harrison co-founded Them Mushrooms with a group of fellow musicians, and the band quickly gained a following for their unique sound, which blended traditional African rhythms with pop and rock influences. Harrison was a key member of the group, contributing to many of the band's most popular songs and providing dynamic performances on stage. Throughout his career, Harrison has remained committed to promoting East African music and culture.
