Joshua Baraka is a Ugandan singer, songwriter, music producer, and multi-instrumentalist whose music spans Afrobeats, Afro-pop, R&B, Amapiano, and dancehall. Born in Kampala to a Ugandan mother and Kenyan father, he developed his musical foundation in church before learning piano, guitar, and drums.
He launched his recording career with the EP "Baby Steps" in 2021 through Ssese Nation/Lobst4r. His breakthrough arrived in 2023 with "Nana," whose remixes featuring King Promise, Joeboy, and Bien expanded his audience across Africa. He followed with "Growing Pains," "Growing Pains (Deluxe)," "Recess," and "Juvie," while releasing singles including "Wrong Places," "Dalilah," "Lonely," "Digii IV," and "Touch Me."
Baraka has collaborated with Simi, Magixx, Nkosazana Daughter, FAVE, Smallgod, and Krizbeatz. Selected for Spotify RADAR Africa in 2024, he joined LVRN Records, Love Renaissance/HGA, in 2026, strengthening his international profile through recordings, performances, and global touring.
