Jordan Michael Houston III, known professionally as Juicy J, is an American rapper, songwriter, record producer, and record executive from Memphis, Tennessee. A founding architect of the Southern hip-hop sound, he has worked across hip-hop, Memphis rap, crunk, and trap for more than two decades. His career began with Three 6 Mafia, the influential group he co-founded in 1991, which helped define the dark, bass-heavy Memphis style that later shaped mainstream trap music.
As a solo artist, Juicy J has released projects including MONEYFLY, MUSIC DEALER, SOMK, and Work (Remixes), featuring Nelly and Ashanti. His collaborations span artists such as DJ Paul, Wiz Khalifa, Katy Perry, Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz, Project Pat, and others. Three 6 Mafia won the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 2006 for “It’s Hard Out Here for a Pimp,” while his appearance on Katy Perry’s “Dark Horse” earned a Grammy nomination.
