Julian Laxton was a seasoned South African musician, guitarist, and producer who boasts a remarkable career spanning decades. He gained recognition as a guitarist in "Mel, Mel and Julian" during the 1960s and solidified his place with "Freedom's Children," "Hawk," and the "Julian Laxton Band," composing hits such as 'Celebrate The Rain' and 'Blue Waters.' Beyond performing, he excelled in music production, earning accolades like the "Sari" award for recording engineering. His production work extended to artists like "Rabbitt," "Stingray," "Margaret Singana," and more. He ventured into film and TV scoring, including "Shaka Zulu," while also captivating audiences in shows like "The Legend of Clapton." Sadly, Julian passed away in September 2023, although the cause of his death was unknown.
