Mahmoud Abdel AzizSudan |1967| ArabicMahmoud Abdel Aziz, was a singer-songwriter and youth icon, used his music to defy the oppressive military government. Mahmoud's journey began with a TV debut at 3 on Janat Al Atfal. His passion in arts led him to study acting at the Youth and Children Palace, and in 1975, his performance was awarded by then-Sudanese President Jaafar Nimeiry in an event. In his 20's, he started performing at exclusive events, later releasing his debut album in 1994.
Over his career, he released 20+ solo albums, building a devoted Sudanese fan base with music blending urban Sudanese and Western pop, occasionally infused with African influences. Notably, his song "Juba" emerged during the Second Sudanese Civil War. Tragically, he passed away in 2013.
