Kevin Nathaniel Hylton is a multifaceted artist, composer, and musician celebrated for his mastery of the mbira and shekere. His musical journey began during his college years. Inspired by legendary musicians such as Ephat Mujuru and Chief Bey, Kevin honed his skills in African vocal styles and dance, deepening his connection to the healing traditions of African music, especially mbira. Kevin is a passionate advocate for the transformative power of the Mbira music genre. He has been instrumental in founding renowned musical groups, including the Spirit Ensemble, Heritage Percussion Ensemble, and the Kinetic Painting Group. He also directs his own ensemble, Moment, where he continues to innovate and inspire through his artistry.
