Bio
Jeremiah Morolong Moeketsi, also known as Kippie Moeketsi, was a notable South African jazz musician recognized for his excellent alto saxophone abilities. Born into a musical family, he was drawn to music at a young age, progressing from learning the clarinet to playing the saxophone. His ability blossomed as he performed with a variety of bands, including the Jazz Epistles, the Shantytown Sextet, the Harlem Swingsters, and other prominent jazz artists like Abdullah Ibrahim, Jonas Gwangwa, and Hugh Masekela. Although Kippies fame soared, his financial status didn't reflect this, as he unfortunately died impoverished in 1983.
