Tesfalem Arefaine, widely known as Korchach, is a prominent Eritrean singer and former dancer. Born with a nickname inspired by his coarse, kinky hair, Korchach embraced his unique identity. His musical journey began in 2001 when he transitioned from dancing to singing after encouragement from those who recognized his vocal talent. Drawing inspiration from artists like Yunis Said, Habtom Hafa, and Yohannes Tequabo, he has three albums: "Minalbat," "Entay giere," and "Titsbit newihuwa." Personal experiences, including the tragic loss of his mother during the Ethiopian colonial era, deeply influence his work, highlighting his commitment to preserving memories. Beyond music, he is an advocate for HIV/AIDS awareness.
