Bio
Senzo Mfundo Vilakazi, known by his stage name Kwesta and his alias Brikka, is a South African rapper and songwriter born in Katlehong, Gauteng. He discovered music as a teenager and began rapping in local cyphers before stepping into the studio to shape his voice. Kwesta first drew national attention with his debut album “Special Rekwest,” in 2010, which marked him as one of the new voices in South African hip-hop. His career took a major leap in 2013 with “DaKAR,” (Da King of Afrikan Rap), an ambitious double-disc project performed in both English and isiZulu. Three years later, “DaKAR II,” produced enduring hits like “Ngud” and “Ngiyaz’fela Ngawe,” cementing his place in the country’s musical history. Respected for his deep voice, relatable storytelling, and ability to carry township experiences into global rap culture, Kwesta has become one of South Africa’s most influential hip-hop artists.
