Jamila Omar Bouamout, also known as Laila Ghofran, is a prominent Moroccan-Egyptian singer. Ghofran's career really took off between 1988 and 1998, thanks in part to the efforts of her husband and manager Ibrahim Aakad. She became a household name with the release of the song "Bahibak, Bahibak" in 1992. She also gained even wider recognition with her successful covers of songs by the legendary Egyptian singer Abdelhalim Hafez in 1996. Ghofran is known as the Sultana of Tarab.
