Joseph Athanase Tshamala Kabasele, aka Le Grand Kallé, was a Congolese singer and bandleader, widely recognized as the "father" of modern Congolese music (Soukous). He founded the band l'African Jazz and established his own record label, Subourboum Jazz, in 1960. Kallé composed several political songs, including "Indépendance Cha Cha" and was chosen as one of the Congolese delegates at the "Round Table Conference" on Congolese independence in 1960. He passed away on February 11, 1983, in Paris, France, and was buried in Kinshasa.

Kosmos Moutouari, born Côme Moutouari on July 25, 1944, in Kivimba, Congo-Brazzaville, was a prominent Congolese singer from a musically gifted family. He began his career in 1965 with the renowned Congolese rumba band Bantous de la Capitale, where he showcased his warm tenor voice and composed several of the band's notable songs. Kosmos gained recognition for hits like "Ebandeli ya Mosala," "Makambo Mibale," and "Miléna." He later co-founded the Trio CEPAKOS and continued with his backing band, Le Peuple. In 1980, he ventured to Paris, releasing three successful solo albums, including "Kamani Mado." Kosmos faced career challenges due to political and economic turmoil in Congo-Brazzaville during the 1990s, but his music legacy endured.
