Leila Kayondo is a Ugandan singer, songwriter, and entrepreneur. She began her musical journey in school choirs at Seeta Boarding Primary and Naalya Secondary School before studying social work at Uganda Christian University, where she graduated in 2011.
Her professional music career took off in 2007 as a member of the all-girl group Dream Gals, which gained popularity with hits like “Weekend” and “Wandekangawo.” In 2009, she launched her solo career, releasing well-received singles such as “Kiruma,” “Awo,” and “Relaxing.” Over the years, she has collaborated with top artists like Jose Chameleone, GNL Zamba, Radio & Weasel, and Jamaica’s Nyanda.
In 2017, Leila signed with Nigeria’s Striker Entertainment and released singles like “Respeck” and “Musaayi.” She has earned nominations from prestigious awards, including AFRIMA and Abryanz Style Awards.
