Sipho "Hotstix" MabuseSouth Africa |1951| AfrikaansMabuse was raised in Soweto. His father was Tswana, while his mother was Zulu. Solly Nkuta used to be Sipho and his band's manager. Mabuse began performing with the Afro-soul group the Beaters in the middle of the 1970s after quitting school in the 1960s. They altered the name of the group to Harari, an afrosoul band lead by Mabuse, following a successful tour of Zimbabwe. When they moved back to South Africa, they started to rely almost entirely on American-style funk, soul, and pop songs that were sung in Zulu and Sotho in addition to English. Along with these artists, he has also produced and recorded music for Sibongile Khumalo,Hugh Masekela, and Miriam Makeba. He still gives regular performances.
