Marcel Salem, popularly known as Liga Thiaw, is a Senegalese Afro-Reggae artist, songwriter, guitarist, and singer. Before making his mark in music, he pursued a career in professional boxing but had a transformative phase when he crossed paths with the legendary saxophonist and producer Fela Kuti, who profoundly influenced his musical direction. Marcel's artistic inspiration spans from BB King and Bob Dylan to the incomparable Nina Simone. In 2006, he unveiled his debut album, "CARROY 44," heralding the start of his musical journey. Marcel has since dazzled audiences with his performances alongside the Parisian group Faam N'Diawor. His discography expanded further with releases like "Africa Vigilance" and "Les Charognards."
