Louis Moholo is a South African jazz drummer and bandleader. He's a member of the Blue Notes, a pioneering South African jazz group in the 1960s. Moholo left South Africa for Europe in 1964 and played with prominent jazz musicians. In the 1970s, he formed his band, Viva la Black, and played with other influential jazz groups. Moholo is known for his innovative and influential drumming style and has received numerous awards, including the Order of Ikhamanga from the South African government in 2019.
