Bio
Domingues Luciane, also known as Luciane Dom, is a singer-songwriter based in Rio de Janeiro, representing a new generation of artists within Brazilian black music. Her music, deeply influenced by the sounds of the African diaspora, delves into themes of race and identity in Brazil, addressing issues of racial justice and the affirmation of black identity. Luciane recently released her debut album, "Liberte Esse Banzo," which focuses on empowerment and her daily struggles as a black woman. Her critical perspective has led her to perform on stages across Brazil alongside notable artists such as BNegAo, Thalma deFreitas, Márcio Local, MC Marechal, Gabriel Moura, and Haitian singer Vox Sambou. She has also participated in various discussion panels centered on culture and race. In addition to her music, Luciane's work is multi-disciplinary, combining elements of music and theater in her visually stunning music videos.
