Mádé Kuti, born Ọmọ́rìnmádé Aníkúlápó Kuti in 1995, is a Nigerian Afrobeat musician, composer, multi-instrumentalist, and performer. The son of Femi Kuti and grandson of Fela Kuti, he grew up within Nigeria’s Afrobeat tradition and developed his musicianship through early exposure to live performance. He later studied at Trinity Laban Conservatoire in London and performed with his father’s Positive Force band.
His solo career began with "For(e)ward," released in 2021 as part of "Legacy +," a joint project with Femi Kuti. The album addresses political and social issues including inequality, corruption, police brutality, and civic responsibility. "Legacy +" earned Mádé and Femi a Grammy nomination for Best Global Music Album in 2022.
In 2025, he released "Chapter 1: Where Does Happiness Come From?," a 13-track album exploring self-awareness, resilience, identity, and personal growth. Mádé continues extending Afrobeat through his own compositional and instrumental approach.
