Mandisa Dlanga is a South African singer known as the longest-serving backing vocalist for Johnny Clegg. She began her musical journey in Johannesburg under Gibson Kente's guidance. In the '80s, she found success as part of the trio Jaws in South Africa. Mandisa's session singing skills led her to collaborate with Chicco, Stimela, Yvonne Chaka Chaka, and Brenda Fassie. In 1986, she met Johnny Clegg in the studio, marking the start of her long-term collaboration with him On her 70th birthday, Mandisa released her debut solo album, "Siyakha," featuring the single "Ndim Lo," celebrating African unity and Ubuntu. Notably, she is a recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Backing Vocalists and Session Musicians Awards (BVSM).
