Bio
Manu WorldStar, born Emmanuel Mutendji, is a Johannesburg-raised musician of Congolese heritage whose sound moves confidently between hip hop, Afro-pop and R&B. He first gained widespread recognition with “Nalingi,” a debut single that crossed genre boundaries and performed strongly in several African countries as well as the UK. The song’s success opened doors to major collaborations, including features on DJ PH’s Go Down with Rouge and DJ Sabby’s Theowa alongside Gigi Lamayne. He continued building momentum with “Future Plan,” a smooth, romantic single that received global attention when P. Diddy shared it on Instagram. This period set the stage for his 2019 project Young African Story, a five-track EP that includes Rent, Future Plan, and the gold-certified Nalingi. Manu has earned recognition from platforms such as Trace TV, OkayAfrica and Moziak Africa, achieved multiple chart-topping positions, and surpassed the million-stream mark cementing his reputation as a rising force in modern African music.
