Maria de Barros, a Cape Verdean musician, is a songstress, philanthropist, and cultural ambassador of her country. Her music is a blend of traditional Cape Verdean rhythms and melodies with contemporary influences, and she often sings in both Portuguese and Creole. Maria de Barros gained prominence after the release of her debut album, "Nha Mundo." She has released other hit albums and singles. She sings in both Portuguese and Creole and also known to promote the Cape Verdean cultural heritage across the globe.
