Matt Freeman is a versatile American musician known for his multifaceted talents as a bassist, drummer, guitarist, and vocalist. He gained prominence through his bass work with iconic bands like Operation Ivy, Rancid, and Downfall, as well as the frontman of Devils Brigade. Matt's musical journey commenced in 1980, and he has maintained an active presence in the industry since. In collaboration with his friend Tim Armstrong, he co-founded Operation Ivy in 1987. After the band's disbandment, he formed Downfall and briefly joined the Dance Hall Crashers. In 1992, he achieved notable success with Rancid, his most prominent and enduring musical project.
