Richie Marvin Chieme Akuba, widely recognized as Morachi, is a Nigerian-American singer, songwriter, producer, model, and fitness enthusiast based in the United States. He was born in Bariga, Lagos State, as the eldest of four children. His education started in Lagos, continued in Imo State, and concluded with O-levels at Beautiful Gate Secondary School, Ejigbo.
He began his career in 2000 with "All About Mo," gaining local airplay, and broke out in 2007 with "Hapuya Lyke Dat," whose video became a staple on MTV Base Africa. Riding its success, he released his debut album, "The Proof," showcasing his versatility as a rapper and performer.
Morachi later released "Eagle 1" (2020) and "Selah" (2022), reflecting a more introspective style. After a hiatus, he returned in 2023 with "Sarafina" and "Hook-Up," blending Afrobeats, Afropop, and R&B. Known for his performances, stage presence, and fashion-forward image, he continues building a global audience from Atlanta.
