Born March 3rd in Alexandra, Johannesburg, Tumelo Manyoni, known to the world as Mr JazziQ, grew up under his grandmother’s care and developed a love for music early on. By fourteen, he was DJing, and two years later, producing his own beats. His big break came with Josiah De Disciple as part of JazziDisciples, trailblazers of the amapiano movement through their 2019 project 'Disciples of Piano.' Striking out solo in 2020, JazziQ released '0303' featuring the gold-certified hit “Askies,” followed by 'For the Babies' and 'Maba Jabul’Abantu' with Busta 929. Projects like 'Party With The English' (2021) and 'All You Need Is Piano' (2022–2023) proved his staying power, delivering hits such as “Woza” and “Amaneighbour.” His talent has earned him South African Amapiano Music Awards, a GQ South Africa cover, and a 2024 collaboration with Vigro Deep on 'The Grass Is Greener,' sealing his status as a defining Amapiano figure.
