I.K Dairo, born Isaiah Kehinde Dairo, was a well-known Nigerian juju musician, accordionist, and the founder of the Blue Sports music group. He's been argued as the "Father of Juju" in Yoruba land. His interest in music began at a young age, when his father gave him a drum. Despite failing at several jobs as a young man, he pursued his passion for music and founded the Morning Star Orchestra later renamed Blue Sports, which propelled him to fame.

Despite facing challenges early in his career when producers didn't believe his music would sell, Shirinda's album release in 1976 gave him his career break. Shirinda also performed live with his backing band, the Gaza sisters, which includes his wives. With a career spanning several decades, Shirinda recorded over 764 songs before his demise on June 25, 2017.

Peterson Tusubira Mutebi was a renowned Ugandan artist who pioneered the unique musical genre "kadonkam." He started his musical journey at a young age, reinterpreting songs by notable musicians. Engaging actively in school choirs, he eventually led one and went on to form musical groups such as The Blue Regions and later The Squares. During the '70s and '80s, he and The Tames band dominated Uganda's pop music scene. Despite the challenges of the era, his recordings sold well, earning him the endearing nickname "Amata Agatafa". Notably, Mutebi was among Uganda's early producers of music on LP discs, and he remained optimistic about the future of Ugandan music despite the homeland's instability. Sadly, Peterson T. Mutebi passed away in 1992, leaving behind a legacy.

Orlando Julius, Born Orlando Julius Ekemode, was a Nigerian saxophonist, vocalist, bandleader, and songwriter who is widely connected to afrobeat music. With juju and konkoma bands, Julius began his career with drums and flute. He later learned the saxophone and began playing highlife music. He started his own band, The Afro Sounders, and released several albums and singles. Orlando passed away on April 14, 2022 though his contributions to the development of Afrobeat (a fusion of African and Western musical genres) remains.
