Bio
Mzwakhe Mbuli is a prominent South African poet and singer, who found his musical calling through traditional mbube songs passed down by his father. The Soweto Uprising in 1976 shaped his poetic journey. Performing for the Congress of South African Students (COSAS) in 1979, his talent resonated locally and globally. His literary achievements include the book "Before Dawn" (1989) and albums like "Change Is Pain" (1986) and "Africa" (1993). Internationally recognized, he performed alongside esteemed artists in Berlin (1990) and graced significant events like Chris Hani's funeral and Nelson Mandela's inauguration (1994). Mzwakhe's activism extended beyond music, co-hosting the Two Nations Concert in London. Mzwakhe's legacy extends to his son, Robot Boii, ensuring the family's artistic heritage endures, celebrating resilience and social awareness.
