BioN'Yoka Longo is a prominent figure in Soukous, Congolese pop music.
Longo is known for his powerful vocals and his work as the lead singer of the influential band, Zaiko Langa Langa which he co-founded with percussionist D.V. Moanda in 1969 as a student.
Over the years, Longo has remained a central figure in the Congolese music scene, and his work with Zaiko Langa Langa has influenced many other musicians.
The band has featured numerous members over the years, including notable musicians such as Papa Wemba, Evoloko Jocker, Bozi Boziana, and Pepe Feli.
In 1988, Zaiko Langa Langa split into two groups, with Longo continuing to work with a revamped lineup.
Despite the changes, he remains an influential figure in the music of his homeland.
