Bio
He wasn’t always called Napoleon. Born Innocent Asiimwe in the quieter parts of Jinja, Uganda, the name came later, when the music started and the spotlight found him. In the early 2000s, he broke through with "More Money," an EP that spoke plainly about how money shifts love and loyalty. It was catchy and said what many were thinking. His raw sound caught the attention of top producer Steve Jean, who believed Napoleon had what it took to make it big. For a while, it seemed he would. But fame’s shadows crept in. Alcohol, unfiltered cigarettes, and a fast life chipped away at his momentum. A near-fatal car crash in 2004 didn’t just break bones; it stalled his rise. His debut album was shelved, and addiction took hold. After rehab, he tried again. Songs like “Mwana Muwala,” “Ekitibwa Ky’omukyala,” and “Endabada” marked his return. Sadly, in early 2022, Napoleon died of a seizure in Kampala.
