Nestum, born Zanele Nyakale-Peterson, is a South African kwaito vocalist, DJ, and media personality who emerged in the mid-1990s as part of the influential group Abashante under Arthur Mafokate’s 999 Music label. She contributed to key kwaito releases including "Girls" (1996), "Dreams" (1998), "Intwenjani?" (1999), "Vuk’Uzenzele" (1999), and "Ayoyo" (2001), helping shape the sound of early township kwaito.
She later progressed into the Arthur All-Stars project, where she developed her individual vocal identity. Her breakthrough solo single “Paraka” achieved gold status and became her defining success outside group work, cementing her as a standalone kwaito artist.
Following her music career, she expanded into television through 'Jam Alley,' then moved into radio broadcasting with Lesedi FM, becoming a well-known presenter. She also diversified into DJing, MC work, and entrepreneurship, while supporting initiatives for emerging female DJs.
