Nyelu (born Nnanyelu Dexter Anawana) is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and producer known for his genre-blending style across Afrobeats, hip-hop, Afro-pop, and gospel.
Originally from Anambra State but born in Zaria, he grew up as the youngest of six in a Christian, academically driven household that nurtured his creativity early on.
After completing his education at W.T.C Primary School, New Estate Boys Secondary School, and Enugu State University of Science and Technology, he relocated to Lagos to pursue music professionally.
He signed with Aforevo Records and Backstage Entertainment, gaining attention with Afro-urban singles like “Trouble” and “Showcase”, and collaborating with notable acts such as Vector D’Viper, Illbliss, Mc Loph, Obiwon, and Snazy.His debut album, "Never Forget," marked his entry into the scene.
Nyelu later embraced gospel music, releasing worship tracks “My Life” and “Holy.” He’s also active in film and media, with acting credits in Game Plan, Mysterious Girls, Family Bomb, and Little Ryan.
