Oncle Bapius, whose real name is Mwaka Mbeka Bapius, is a renowned bass player who is famous for his work with the band Zaiko Langa Langa from 1971 to 1999. Later, he left to create the group Zaïko Langa Langa Universel, which was short-lived, with Meridjo Belobi and Modikilo Modeste. In 2008, he participated in Zaïko's 38th anniversary in Brussels, and after that, he joined Les Ganers de Zaïko, a temporary group formed by Lola Muana, a member of Zaïko LL. Oncle Bapius is considered a legendary bass player in African music, and his contributions to the Zaïko Langa Langa band have been immensely significant.
