BioCachaíto, born Candelario Orlando López Vergara, was an acclaimed bassist and composer from Cuba. He began his music career at age 12, composing his first piece, "Danzón," at age 13. In the 1950s, he became prominent for popularizing the descarga style and playing with acclaimed artists, such as the National Symphony Orchestra. Cachaíto gained international recognition through the Buena Vista Social Club project, resulting in his 2001 solo debut. He passed away in 2009 due to health complications.
