Oumou Sangaré is a Malian singer, songwriter, and philanthropist, widely recognized for her contributions to West African music. She is known to sing about issues of gender inequality while also sparking important social discussions in Mali. She rose to prominence in the early 1990s with her debut album, "Moussolou," and has since released several critically acclaimed albums and won numerous awards, including a Grammy for "Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals" with other well-known artists.
