Papa Mbye is a Senegambian-American musician, songwriter, rapper, singer, producer, and visual artist. Papa Mbye was born in the Gambia/Senegal and lived there until he was two. Then, his family moved to Memphis. Though he always thought about making music, Papa never imagined he could do it. He just had friends who encouraged him to do it. Papa released a song under his then-account on Spotify, putting out a snippet of a song called "Only Right," and it caught the attention of Against Giant (an independent creative company). Mbye released his debut EP, MANG FI, in 2022 to critical acclaim. He has since toured internationally and shared stages with artists such as Dua Saleh, Psymun, and Alec Ness.
