Pieter Bezuidenhout, sometimes referred to as Piet Bez, is a South African composer, conductor, rhythm guitarist, and performer who is notably recognized for bridging generational gaps in composition. As a vocalist in the Dorp band, he has composed for various groups, including instrumental chamber ensembles, and is regularly commissioned both locally and internationally for works performed in prestigious venues worldwide. His compositions are frequently selected in South African choral competitions, and he has garnered accolades such as the European Academy of Choral Conductors award for his choral piece "Stardance" and two awards from the Stevens Grove International Composition Competition.
