Rex Omar is a Ghanaian highlife musician and producer who began his music career in the 1980s and quickly rose to prominence with his unique style of highlife music. He was among the pioneers of the Highlife Supergroup, Nakorex, and is the leader of the Ghana Music Rights Organisation(GHAMRO). Omar has won several awards for his contributions to music including his nominations for a Kora award and Artiste of the Year in the Ghana Music Awards in 2004 and 2005 respectively.
