Safy Boutella is an Algerian singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. Born in Pirmasens, Germany on 6 January 1950, Boutella is best known for his unique blend of Algerian folk and French pop music. His career has spanned four decades. His lyrics often explore themes of love, loss, and political and social issues in his native Algeria. Boutella has collaborated with many other notable musicians, including Rachid Taha and Khaled, and has been praised for his unique sound and passionate performances.
