He later became an apprentice in De Opia's Melody Makers band in the late 1960s, where he further expanded his music mastery. After a period with the Melody Makers, he formed his group called "The Harmony Kings International" and continued to tour and release music with his band's assistance. He died in 2013 at the age of 64.
