Samoëla Rasolofoniaina, professionally known as Samoëla, is a prominent Malagasy musician known for his innovative blend of contemporary folk fusion and roots music. Samoëla grew up surrounded by traditional Malagasy music and began playing guitar and singing at a young age. Samoëla joined the group Tarika Sammy, where he honed his skills as a composer and performer. But later embarked on a solo career and has released several albums, which have been critically acclaimed both in Madagascar and internationally. In addition to his musical pursuits, Samoëla is also a passionate advocate for environmental conservation and cultural preservation in Madagascar. Today, Samoëla is considered one of Madagascar's most accomplished musicians, known for his dynamic live performances and his commitment to promoting Malagasy music and culture.
