Shan’L, born Channelle Lekogo, is a Gabonese singer, songwriter, and performer recognized as one of the most successful female artists in Central Africa. Raised in the Haut-Ogooué region, she developed her musical foundation in the choir of Lycée National Léon Mba, where she served as both lead vocalist and choreographer. Her career gained momentum after she reached the final of the Miss Gabon pageant, where her singing attracted the attention of producer Edgard Yonkeu.
She emerged professionally through the hit duet “L’Aveu” with Arielle T before achieving wider recognition by winning Airtel Trace Music Star Gabon in 2015. Her debut album, "Shan’L Is My Name," introduced her to a continental audience, while later hits such as “Tchizambengue,” “Serré Serré,” “Poupish,” “Yayayobé,” and “Où est le mariage” strengthened her reputation.
Renowned for blending R&B, Afropop, and zouk influences, Shan’L has earned multiple awards and remains a leading figure in Francophone African music.
