Born Shanice Dileita Mohamed, Shay Lia is a French-Djiboutian R&B singer who rose to fame for her collaborations with Haitian-Canadian singer Kaytranada. Born in France, Kaytranda was raised in Djibouti before moving to the U.S for university. After a couple of collaborative singles with Kaytranada, she released her debut project, "Dangerous" in 2019. Her follow-up project "Solaris" saw her take a more afrobeats-influenced approach to R&B.
