Born in Windhoek, Shishani Vranckx, popularly known as Shishani (which means 'crown'), is a Namibian singer, songwriter, guitarist, activist, and musicologist. She co-founded the acoustic quartet The Namibian Tales in 2015, as a way to honor Namibian musical heritage, and Miss Catharsis, an all female band, in 2019. Shishani's songs touch on human rights and the environment.
