Sibongiseni Shabalala, a South African singer, is the son of the founder of Ladysmith Black Mambazo and former member of the choral group. While Sibongiseni and his brothers were still very young, their father, Joseph, formed a junior choir, Mshengu White Mambazo, for them. They were later recruited into the main group after several of its members left. Sibongiseni later left the father's group with one of his brothers and another renowned guitarist to form a new music group, Shabalala Rhythm.
