    Fernando Sofia Rosa was born in Ambriz, northern Bengo province, Angola. He grew up in Luanda's Samba district, learning the Kimbundu language and traditions from locals. As a unique and popular singer, he joined the "Agrupamento Teatral Ngongo" in 1963. Fernando recorded his first single in 1970, followed by seven more. He was a gifted composer, expressing the life and emotions of ordinary people in Kimbundu songs. He gained fame for his music and distinctive look adorned with African textiles. Notably, his recordings "Kalumba" and "Imbua Iolo Bosa" showcased his artistic talent. Tragically, he moved to Lobito in 1973, where he was killed during the UNITA forces' takeover in November 1975, likely due to his sympathies for the MPLA.
