Sir Mathias Walukagga (born January 1975 in Masaka, Uganda) is a renowned Kadongo Kamu artist, cultural icon, and local politician. The firstborn of Kilizanto Kisirinya Buyondo and Stephanie Namuyimbwa, he grew up in Kinyerere Village, where his music journey began after primary and secondary education in local schools.
He rose to national fame in the early 2000s with songs like Abankusere, Namboole, and Omukisa Omudagala. Known for his sharp social and political commentary, Walukagga has released over 20 albums, with standout tracks like Parliament Yaffe and Referee. His consistent advocacy for justice and tradition earned him the honorific “Sir” from the Kabaka of Buganda in 2013.
Outside music, he serves as mayor of Kyengera Town Council and continues to pursue formal education. His career has seen setbacks and controversies, but his persistence and connection to community remain strong.
