Sonja Herholdt is a singer-songwriter and Afrikaner actress from South Africa. She obtained a job as a teacher after finishing her studies. She lost interest in teaching after meeting FC Hamman, whom she subsequently married. She resolved to pursue her childhood ambitions and desires. She made her full-time debut in the music industry with a performance on Gwynneth Ashley Robin's show. She was afterwards requested to record a song, Ek Verlang Na Jou. Sonja Herholdt recorded several albums and singles that helped her acquire notoriety, critical acclaim, and economic success. She was the recipient of eight Sarie Awards.
